Venue for Hire - centrally located

Located at Nile street this venue is only minutes walk from the central city. The venue hosts an auditorium, theatre and smaller music rooms. The auditorium seats 380 whilst the theatre and music rooms are more suitable for smaller functions. Built in 1894 the venue is a historical building fully restored.

The Nelson School of Music Auditorium is acclaimed as having the best accoustic
qualities in the Southern Hemisphere (nzlive.com) and thanks to our brand new
sound system and full stage lighting we can provide an event you won't forget!

For smaller occasions (house concerts, meetings, functions, parties, seminars) you
can book our Balling Theatre. Equipped with a sound system and a bar it's perfect for
more intimate events.

If you decide to plan your event at the School of Music you are more than welcome to
use our in house computerised ticketing system. With this system we provide an
online booking service as well as taking telephone and on site bookings.
And because we manage our own ticketing system and facilities there are no
unexpected double bookings. Our aim is to keep your customers happy.

If you are looking for a practice room - at the School of Music you can choose between
9 studios, all equipped with an upright piano, keyboard, chairs and music stands.
