About The Course
The new Certificate in Arts
and Media (Contemporary Music) enables students to pursue their
skills in contemporary music,
both individually and in a band, within a programme that
broadens their arts and media education.
The programme teaches a broad set of skills focusing on the music industry
including performance, audio/video engineering and multimedia development.
Because of the new integration into the Arts and Media school
at NMIT, students will also be rubbing shoulders with future web
designers, sculptors and creative writers.
THE TEACHING FACULTY
The tutors for the Certificate in Arts
and Media (Contemporary Music) are leading professional musicians with wide experience in the industry.
Guest tutors from New Zealand and overseas will be included from time to time in special workshops.
FACILITIES
The Contemporary Music programme uses shared facilities at
both NSOM and NMIT.
Classes will be held at the NMIT in "V" Bock (Broadcast
Media) and "A" Block (Computer suite) with performance classes
